Of course, sooner or later they were supposed to meet - the genius of satire Mikhail Zoshchenko and the genius of comedy Leonid Gaidai. From this meeting, everyone won, and first of all - the audience. The stories of the classic ideally lay down on the film, showing us a bright, funny and at the same time merciless spectacle to human vices.
Three novels “Crime and Punishment”, “Funny Adventure”, “Honeymoon Journey” last a total of just over one and a half hours, but they manage to say so much, and also give the opportunity to laugh and reflect on how permanent and human time defects are. The film is about this, and therefore we will not find in the tape almost a single uniquely positive character, just as we will not find a uniquely negative one. All the characters are what they are, the time in which they lived, as well as themselves, made them so. Thank God, there is no propaganda, moralizing and ideological component in the picture, except maybe for one exclamation of Savely Kramarov. Significantly, if the fate that was in the yard in 1975.
The range of talented actors who played in “It Can't Be!” Amazes the mind, despite the fact that Gaidai usually has never been otherwise. But here the director has surpassed himself. Maybe all these actors played in the film adaptation of the three short stories by M. Zoshchenko and not their very star roles, but bright, characteristic, with a “twist” - no doubt.
I liked everything; somehow, the secondary characters were remembered more than others: Mikhail Svetin, Vyacheslav Nevinny, Mikhail Kokshenov, Natalya Selezneva. Although the second plan in this comedy is relative and conditional, in fact, almost all the characters are on the first plan.
Again, Oleg Dahl played a very subtle and sensitive way, giving his character romance and lyricism, which, it seems, was not intended for his hero at all.
And you just wonder how miraculously another favorite of Gaidai, Alexander Demyanenko, didn’t get to this meeting. The reason should have been truly an archive.
Sparkling musical fireworks lit again to the comedy Gaidai and Alexander Zatsepin. Everything is so good that even in general contours one cannot imagine another soundtrack for this picture.
One of the best examples of the Soviet comedy film, which is still not out of date very, very long.
8 out of 10
