John Green "Blame the Stars"
Hazel and Augusta have cancer. Realizing that they will soon die, the guys decide without losing time to find answers to the unfinished final of a previously read book, which did not leave them indifferent. But for this they will have to go on a journey for which no doctor will give permission.
Josh Boone tried to shove into this ingenious story all that was created in the melodrama at the moment. The director plays on standard conventions for the genre, setting emotional moments in the right places. Boone clearly follows the scenario and does not deviate from the planned one iota.
The authors, who are working on the adaptation of the book, have tried to include in the film everything that can squeeze tears from the audience. But, unfortunately, small, but very important moments were removed, without which the picture turned out to be unsaid and one-sided.
Script writers completely removed the religious component from the plot in order to attract as many viewers as possible to the project.
Ben Richardson shot a beautiful and sensual picture, which lacks emotion.
Shaylie Woodley and Ansel Elgort are a duet who tried to put everything they could into the picture. Unfortunately, their acting range is simply not enough for such “simple”, but at the same time very extraordinary images.
The creators of the picture succeeded most importantly, they very carefully and carefully approached the transfer of all references referred to in the book (TV shows, films, books and games). Particular attention is paid to the correspondence of the characters and all these finds look very fresh and interesting.
"Blame the Stars" - a cute, one-time movie. The authors of the film simply made another cud out of an extraordinary book, for a specific audience. And for those who want to know the full power of the original, take the time and read the book.
